Our Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis provides participants with the knowledge and skills to enable them to assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until medical assistance arrives.

It is becoming increasingly more important for both corporate business and the general public to become Anaphylaxis prepared. Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of an allergic reaction and is potentially life threatening. It must be treated as a medical emergency, requiring immediate treatment and urgent medical attention. Obtain the necessary first aid skills to assess, manage and assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until medical assistance arrives.
By the end of the course, the candidate should be able to:
- Define the term allergic reaction/anaphylaxis
- Recognition of allergy and anaphylaxis
- Recognise signs and symptoms of allergic reaction
- Recognise risk factors
- Provide first aid management of severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
- Develop risk minimisation and management strategies for allergic reaction and anaphylaxis
- Develop Action Plans
- Use of adrenaline auto-injector devices Epi Pen or Ana Pen
- Communicate detail of the accident to Emergency services
The Anaphylaxis EpiPen course can be customised to meet your industry requirements. We also provide an Advanced Management System to notify clients and students when certificates are due to expire, ensuring staff are always compliant.
Our trainers have 10 years of industry experience, providing a professional learning experience. State-of-the art resources and learning material are provided for theory and practical learning and all students must pass the course prior to receiving certification.
There are no course pre-requisites for the course in Anaphylaxis awareness. Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.
The face to face training is 2 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of using the Anaphylaxis EpiPen. Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or will be refused entry.
