This is a non-accredited course in Asthma Awareness which provides participants with the standard emergency management protocols to enable them to assist a person suffering an asthma emergency until medical assistance arrives.

Training Objectives

To raise awareness of Asthma in schools, workplaces and sporting organisations.  Obtain the necessary first aid skills to assess, manage and assist a person suffering an asthma emergency until medical assistance arrives.

By the end of the course, the candidate should be able to:

  • Understand what Asthma is
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of Asthma
  • Understand Asthma medications
  • Assess severity of Asthma
  • Provide first aid management of Asthma

Entry Requirements

There are no course pre-requisites for the course in Anaphylaxis awareness.

Course Duration

The face to face training is 1.0 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of using a “Puffer” eg Ventolin and a spacer.

The face to face training is 1 hour and covers both theory and practical aspects of emergency Asthma Management. Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or will be refused entry.

$330.00 for a group of 10 -15

Certificate

A certificate of attendance in  Asthma Awareness is emailed after the conclusion of the course.
