This is a non-accredited course in Anaphylaxis Awareness which provides participants with the knowledge and skills to enable them to assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until medical assistance arrives.

Training Objectives

To raise awareness of anaphylaxis in schools, workplaces and sporting organisations.  It must be treated as a medical emergency, requiring immediate treatment and urgent medical attention. Obtain the necessary first aid skills to assess, manage and assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until medical assistance arrives.

By the end of the course, the candidate should be able to:

  • Understand what an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis is
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of allergic reaction
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of Anaphylaxis
  • Understand common triggers
  • Provide first aid management of severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
  • Use an adrenaline auto-injector devices eg Epi Pen

Entry Requirements

There are no course pre-requisites for the course in Anaphylaxis awareness.

Course Duration

The face to face training is 1.5 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of using an auto-injector device eg Epipen.

$330.00 for a group of 10 -15

Certificate

A certificate of attendance in  Anaphylaxis Awareness is emailed after the conclusion of the course.
